New Website for Women to Host Memphis Networking Event to Celebrate Magazine Release & Boutique Opening
My Creative Connection and HHUCIT Magazine present: HerStory, a networking event to help professional and creative women of color create, connect, and conquer
MEMPHIS – July 26, 2011 — Local public relations assistant and freelance writer Melissa Kimble has created a website for women of color called My Creative Connection, a platform to connect women as a source of encouragement, enrichment, and empowerment. Created in September 2010 with over 3,000 unique hits, the site is set to re-launch this month. In support of its return, the site will sponsor the women in entertainment issue of HHUCIT Magazine, and will host a networking event for women in Memphis at K’Presha Boutique as a part of the boutique’s grand opening weekend on Saturday, July 30 from 4pm- 6pm.
The networking event, HerStory, will allow professional and creative women to interact with like-minded women. In a stylish, sophisticated, and fun setting provided by K’Presha Boutique, women can enjoy light appetizers, trade business cards and information, find out more about HHUCIT’s women in entertainment issue, participate in giveaways, become encouraged by other women and their stories, and enjoy a live performance from DeAnna, an R&B singer, from Memphis.
Today’s world is filled with plenty of smart, ambitious, intriguing women with amazing stories to tell. My Creative Connection will continue to support women of color in their professional and creative endeavors. The HerStory event is set to bring that mission to other cities, such as Atlanta and Chicago, later on this fall.
Notable features on My Creative Connection have included Tameka Raymond, Indigo Charlie, Bessie Winn-Adu (She Is Me Program), Kiratiana Freelon of Black Atlas, and Memphis’ own, Danielle Inez of diPR Agency and Take 2 Mentors.
